Glory Gene Silver, daughter of Colene Matthews and the late Bissell McLain was born on November 17, 1952 in McCall. S.C. She departed this life at the MedStar Union Memorial Hospital on January 1st, 2021 with her sister Iris Matthews and her lifelong partner Charles Cook at her bedside.

Gene, the second of seven children came to Baltimore at age 15 where she met William Lee Silver whom she later married and had two children Anthony and Latonya Silver. Gene later met Charles Cook who would be her life-long partner and from this union had a son Christian Cook

Gene worked as a GNA much of her adult life. Gene made no apologies for being known as the person that loved to party. Even in the state being immobile she was always ready to go. Gene really loved shooting pool. a good cookout, eating crabs and drinking champagne. Her motto was, "You're never too old." She will truly be missed.

Gene was proceeded in death by her Brothers Tony, Shawn, and Sister Ann.

She leaves to mourn Charles Cook, Mom Colene; Daughter Latonya Silver now Latonya Crippen, two Sons, Anthony Silver and Christian Cook; 1 Stepson Charles Cook Jr.; three sisters Juanita, Iris and Winnie; two Aunts, Esther Glover of New York and Mary Davis of Baltimore; one son-in-law Craig Crippen; two Uncles Hue Miller Smith (Berneice) and Theodore Smith both of Baltimore; 4 Grandchildren Kiara L. Silver, Anthony Silver Jr., VonToria Silver and Kealin Hayes; 3 Greatgrandchildren Kiara Cherry, Da'Von Gillis and Kardi Lounder 8 nieces and nephews; 7 grand nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and close friends.
