Goals Samuel Wilson, Jr. , son of the late Goals Wilson Sr. and Ada Locks Wilson, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on Febuary 15, 1928. He departed this life after a lengthy illness on Monday, March 24, 2008. Goals received his education through the Baltimore City Public School System, where he completed his studies at Dunbar Senior High School. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged after two years of duty. Goals retired from Sparrows Piont Shipyard in Maryland where he worked for over twenty years. While working in Ocean City, Maryland, Goals met the love of his life the former Ms. Sarah Spires. On March 18, 1961, Goals Wilson, Jr. was join in holy matrimony to Sarah in Baltimore, Maryland. On May 20, 2006, they remarried and moved to New York. Goals had a zest for life and made friends with ease. He belonged to various social clubs and enjoyed playing cards and socializing with friends and family alike. Goals spent much of his down time watching old westerns. He was very politically astute and relished debating events of the day. Goals had a great love for and delighted in trips to casinos. Later in life, he joined the Christian Unity Temple Christian Community Church under the direction of the Reverend Howard Jackson. He was a faithful member who fulfilled his duties and attended regularly. Goals will sorely be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his sisters: June Nock, Helen Toppin, Dinora Rice, and Gertrude Diggs and his brother, Alvin Wilson Sr. Goals' memory will be forever cherished by; his loving and devotded wife, Sarah; cherished daughter, Kim Wilson; beloved niece, Joy Wilson; sisters, Theresa Mayfield, Delois Rowley and Evelyn Bennett; brother, Barry Wilson; granddaughters, Sarah and Lindsay Wilson; grandson, B.J. Wilson; mother-in-law, Sarah P. Spires of Marianna, FL; sisters-in-law, Grace Hill of Dade County, FL, Elaine Goode Robert of Mt. Vernon, NY, Curley Potter of Bronx, NY, Jean Hall Ernest of Chesapeake, VA, Lenora Tolbert Billy of Bronz, NY, Marinda Liggans Carl of Tallahassee, FL, and Rose Spires Alexander of New York City, NY, caring nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and dear friends.
