GOLDIE. DOLORES SCOIT was born October 9, 1933 to the late Margaret Burts and James Williams in South Baltimore. She transitioned this life on June 20, 2015 at Sinai Hospital. Her family moved to Cherry Hill, May 12, 1945 and she attended Baltimore City Public Schools. In 1936, Goldie joined Ebenezer A.M.E Church and later attended Cherry Hill Presbyterian in 1945. In 1951, she met and later married James Scott who proceeded her in death. From this union seven children were born. James and Goldie continued to make their home in Cherry Hill for many years and then they moved to Randallstown, MD. Goldie and James enjoyed forty-six years of marriage. Goldie was baptized in 1989 at the Cherry Hill Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. Henry Simon. She later went on to become a member of St. John U.M.C. where she remained a faithful member, physically and spiritually, until her illness. Goldie was employed at Harbor Hospital, formerly South Baltimore General Hospital for thirty-one years, and retired in 1995. "Momma" as everyone called her or "Ma", was the best host. She loved seeing others enjoying themselves with food, laughter and fellowship. Whenever there was any occasion she had to make her famous macaroni and cheese, her delicious rice pudding and her scrumptious pineapple upside down cake. She loved being with family and friends. She loved having cook-outs during the summer months and Christmas was brought alive by Mommas decorative lights that would brighten all of 2500 Seamon Avenue as well as her home in Randallstown. She enjoyed the holidays because she knew it was a time of family gatherings, laughter, food, and music. She also, along with her husband, enjoyed the spirit of celebration. One of "Mommas" favorite past-times was watching her old movies, and she "Loved" John Wayne. Momma loved her children, grandchildren and great -grandchildren, and whenever you would see Momma you would see her Norman - her special gift. Goldie had the brightest and welcoming smile and a spirit of love and care. She loved dancing and of course, shopping. She enjoyed her life and her family gatherings. Momma was a loving, devoted giving mother, grandmother and great -grandmother. All were welcomed in her home. Her life was enriched by the love and admiration from many. She not only was Mother to her own but to so many others. Goldie (Momma) leaves to cherish her memories: five sons, Eric, Michael (Linda), Dean (Valerie), Blair (Erica), and Norman Scott; two daughters Sandra and Brenda Scott; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-seven great- grandchildren, Madasyn Henderson and Morgan Grier proceeded her in death; host of nieces and nephews, one godson Shad Johnson, a special nephew Frederick Howard, Jr. who proceeded her in death; her "special" daughters Angela Johnson, Juletta Thomas, Jacqueline Johnson, and Felicia Graham; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Scott and Claudette Reed; two brothers-in-law Wilbert and Norman Scott; her devoted and lifelong friends, Christine Rusk and Elsie Howard; a special friend and "brother", Meldenardo "Mr. Pie" Bowen; The Coates family; Adele Harmon; a special Seamon Avenue friend, Sylvia White; Harbor Hospital Family; her Cherry Hill friends, and all that entered her life.
