Obituary

Gordon Scott was born the youngest of eight children to Rosalie Scott and George Haggans o November 18, 1948. He enter into eternal rest on January 30, 2012. Gordon was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland and received his education in the Baltimore City School System. Gordon married his childhood sweetheart, Roberta, and they spent forty-seven years on their life's journey together. Gordon loved people, and people loved Gordon. He was an outgoing person who made friends quickly wherever he went. He always had a funny story to tell, a witty remark, or just a funny observation about the world we live in. Gordon could make you laugh even if it wasn't in you that day. He was a competitive player of all games, especially chess, pinnochle and dominoes. He boasted about his sons and doted on his grandchildren. In 2000, Gordon relocated to San Diego, California to be with his namesake son, Gordon Derrick and his family. Roberta followed him there in 2006, and they eventually returned here to Baltimore in 2009. In that short span of time Gordon built a host of new friends who adore and cherish him still. Gordon received Christ and was baptized at the Church of Christ in Woodlawn, Maryland on January 15, 2012. Along with his devoted wife, Roberta; Gordon leaves to cherish his memory; four sons, Gerard Melissa, Gordon Derrick, Jr., Timothy Adrienne and Kenneth Okesha; nine grandchildren, Alyha, Ayanna, Albany, Skylar, Kenneth Juior, Kendic, Kendra, Maxwell and Sydney; two sisters, Dorothy and Joyce Robert; two brothers, Ronald Gloria and Earl Essie; one brother-in-law, Billie O'Dell Jennie; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Bailey Larry and Margarete Perdue Casey; his best friend of fifty years, Calvin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, waiting to receive Gordon in Heaven are his late brother, Wylie, and sisters, Doris and Elizabeth.
