Obituary

Graig Edward Smith, son of Yvonne G. Smith - Henry and the late Edward E. Smith was born on November 19, 1971 at Anne Arundel General Hospital in Annapolis, Mad. He departed this life on July 4, 2012 at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He was raised in a Christian home and was very much involved in Sunday school, was an acolyte as well as a member of all Youth activities. Graig graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1989, was a Drum Major with the marching band as well as a member of the Stage band. His instrument of choice was the trumpet, but played the French horn. After graduating from Glen Burnie High school he took classes at Anne Arundel Community College. He was a very gifted and talented person. He always had a passion for fixing things, but he always enjoyed fixing cars. At the age of 14 he put in his first transmission. From this point he mastered fixing brakes, timing belts, tune ups, motors and almost every possible thing that could he fixed on cars. He could do body and finder work as well as paint. Graig was known throughout the area as the very best mechanic around. He continued tinkering and fixing cars until he was no longer able to do so even having three heart attacks in 2009. His hobbies included restoring old cars, playing video games, building model cars, playing computer games and using information technology. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jestine and Samuel Gaither and Rena Smith Gore. He leaves to mourn; his loving and devoted wife, Brenda Smith; his six children, Jasmine, Emma, Isaiah, Ethon, Madison and Graig E. Smith, Jr.; his loving and devoted mother; Yvonne Smith Henry; two step sons, Tyler Stitz and James Beatty; uncles, Carroll, Marving and Samuel Gaither, Charles Smith, and Edison Gore; aunts, e. Lavern Gaither, Beverly Gaither and Emma Gore; he has too many best friends and relatives to mention.
