IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gwendolyn
Best
May 27, 1949 – June 4, 2021
Gwendolyn L. Best made her grand entrance into this world on May 27th, 1949. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Isaiah and Bertina Lewis. Gwen was raised in a Christian household with her brothers and sisters. With lots of love and spiritual guidance from her mother, she was dedicated to the Lord at an early age.
She entered the Baltimore City School System during a time when integration was relatively new. She later graduated from Carver Vocational Technical High School. While attending Carver, she met and subsequently married the late Charles R. Best. Adrien and Monica Best were born from that union. As time went on, she met Larry Hall and they had three daughters Keva, Lori and Lisa Hall.
Gwen was employed by the University of Maryland Medical Center for several years. After which, she became a stay-at-home mom. Gwen was well known at her children's school for her volunteer efforts. She was somewhat shy to those who didn't know her but to family and friends she was fun, humorous, wise and always willing to help. She enjoyed art, family gatherings, gardening, cooking, baking, music and the NBA. Some of her favorite artists were Tupac, Biggie, Luther Vandross, Marvin Gaye and her favorite NBA teams were the Chicago Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers.
On June 4th, 2021 Gwendolyn L. Best departed this world, leaving many loved ones to treasure her memories.
