Gwendolyn Delia Lee, one of six daughters and five sons born to the late William Theodore Lee and Ruth Margaret Lee was born in Edgemere, Maryland on December 28, 1953. On Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 5:45 a.m. God called her home to receive her eternal rest.
Gwendolyn was the youngest daughter. Her brothers, William T. Jr., Carroll, Grant, James, Elvin, and sister, Geraldine Harris preceded her in death.
Gwendolyn was baptized at an early age and became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Reverend Peter Jennings. During her youth she was a Junior and Young Adult Choir member.
Gwen attended Edgemere Elementary School and graduated from Sparrows Point High School. She received her A.A. degree from the Community College of Baltimore. She was employed in the education spectrum, working at the St. Luke's School, The Chimes School and as a Physical Therapist at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
Gwen had a fruitful life as she transitioned from Baltimore to California, California to Virginia, and then back to Baltimore.
Gwen doted on her grandsons. She loved to sing, travel, write poems, and attend gospel plays. She also loved watching the Mask Singer television program.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a daughter, Adrienne (Sydney) English; 2 grandchildren, Christopher and Kyan; four sisters; Loretta Hobbs (James) Thelma Carter, Beulah Lee Crawford, Francine Jenkins and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
