On April 20, 1942, Harold Lee Reed was the first of nine children born to Louis and Ruth Reed. On the morning of December 24, 2007, after a lenghty illness, he slipped away to a heavenly call. After graduating from Hadley Technical in St, Louis, Missouri, Harold joined the U.S. Army in 1960 where he served for seven years, including duty in Vietnam. Harold was united in marriage to Toni L. Barbour on July 11, 1987. Harold lived in Portland, OR for many years where he retired and moved to Catonsville, MD with his wife, Toni. He was a hard worker and a lover of fast cars and loose slots. Harold had a very contagiously joyous laugh especially when he was telling a story about his life experiences. His smile and twinkle in his eyes would light up the entire room. To chersish his memories, he leaves behind: devoted wife, Toni L. Reed; mother, Ruth Reed; sons, Harry Reed, Benjamin Reed and Randy Gregory, Jr.; daughters, Calesema Johnson, Harriett Reed, Tobie Morgan; eight grandchildren; brothers, Louis Reed Jr., Ben Reed, Tyrone Reed, and Cye C. Reed; sisters, Queen Jones, Grace Taylor, Rose Smith, Melissa Smith and Patricia Byrd, and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Preceding him in death is his father, Louis Reed Sr., brother Frank Reed and one nephew Desmon Tomlin. Harold will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him. But God never makes a mistake. He Loves him more. We thank God for blessing us with his presence.
