Harriet Bates Penny, beloved daughterofthe late Herbert Bates and Hattie Bates was born on July 10, 1950. She departed this life on January 10, 2020 after an illness.

Harriet received her education from the Baltimore City School System. She learned her cooking skills from her mother. She worked various places inparticular Levindals.

Harriet was joined in holy matrimony to Frances Penny on November 10, 1982.

Harriet was a womanofGod with her heart. She well known by many for her helping handsof kindness, a listening ear and she gave advice. She was a mother to all. She was the queenofPinochle. Lets remember her cook-outs.

Harriet is preceded in death by her daughter Lynett; her two brothers, Robert and Herbert Bates; two sisters, Stella Lewis and Celestine Lewis.

She leaves to mourn: her husband, Frances Penny; her sons, Arthur Bates and Antonio Dingle, Tyrone Lee; one stepson, Roger Cooks; two twin daughters, Annette Lee and Jeannette Lee; one brother, Arnold Bates; two sisters, Bernice and Vertina Greg; one sister-in-law, Connie; daughter-in- law, Dannie; two sons-in-law, Ronald and Leslie; grandchildren, Sononia Drake, Leonard Drake, Janet Pigford, Antonio Drake Jr., Ayanna Drake; great-grandkids, Drake Jr., ZaNya Leonard; a hostofnieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives; special friends, Joseph Dingle, Marceil, Venette, Marshall, Oliva, Dotgirl and a hostofother special friends too many to benamed.
