HARRIETT ELLEN SEENEY was born on February 14, 1924 and she transitioned her life on November 1, 2010. James Henry Chambers and Harriett Payne, her parents, preceded her in death. Harriett attended Frederick Douglass High School in Baltimore City, Maryland. For many years she was employed as a cook at the Cugers Restaurant in Elkrige, Maryland. She was also employed at the spring Grove Hospital Center in the Dietary Department and she retired from that position. She married Paul Eugene Howell in 1939, and from this union, the love of of her life, her only child, Shirley was born. Later in life, Harriett married Clifton Seeney, Sr., who preceded her in death. Mrs.Seeney loved cooking, entertaining family and friends, and she loved family picnics. She enjoyed being home watching sports games with her family. She was a fan of many sports. She was always very soft spoken and full of joy and laughter. One of her favorite dishes was sour beef and dumplings with ginger snap gravy. Harriett loved to eat and enjoyed cooking the foods that she enjoyed the most. She became a member of Gaines A.M.E. Church in Elkridge, Maryland at a very early age and attended church services regularly until her health failed. As a member of this church she sang on the choir and she served on the building projects committee for the expansion of the church. Most of her devoted and committed community friends preceded her in death. Harriett will forever be remembered as a loyal and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her. She leaves to cherish her life:her loving daughter, Shirley Howell; her granddaughter, Danita Rikard; her great-grandson, Jamel and Jamia Rikard; her nephew, Frank Chambers, Jr.; her niece, Francine Chamber; her adopted son, Pastor Kenneth L. Barney, Sr.; one stepdaughter and three stepsons; and a host of other close relatives and friends.
