Hattie Evelyn Bradley, daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Lewis and Eatherlene Jones Lewis, was born in Franklinton, North Carolina on November 1, 1933. She departed this life on February 17, 2024. She was preceded in death by daughters; Linda Thomas, Constance Wilson Jones and Kathleen Lee; son, James Earl Thomas; sisters, Barbara Jean Taylor and Gladys Petronie Brown; brothers, Andre Jones Lewis and Desmus Lewis.
On December 14, 1948, she was united in holy matrimony to the late James Edward Thomas and from that union seven children were born. She later married the late O'Neal Bradley, who became a major figure in their lives. Hattie was educated in the North Carolina Public School system. She accepted God at an early age in North Carolina and joined Concord Baptist Church. Upon her arrival in Baltimore, she united with Wayland Baptist Church. She transferred her membership to City Temple Baptist Church of Baltimore in 1970. Hattie joined the Sanctuary Choir and Missionary Society and sang with the Concert Choir. She became a deaconess in 1989. Hattie was employed by Baltimore City for fifteen years and went on to open a home day care. She was later employed by Spring Grove Hospital. Hattie worked for Baltimore County in the school system until she retired.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters; Ella Maddox, Darlene Thomas, and Cynthia Kearney (James Kearney); 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchild; sisters; Odessa Goodman, Hazel Johnson, Dorothy Davidge, and Brenda Wallace. Along with a host of relatives, friends, and Baby Bear.
