Obituary

Quietly and peacefully on Saturday, April 28, 2012 God in His Infinite Wisdom called His daughter home. Hattie Louise Butler was born on September 10, 1928 to the late William and Hattie Chambers. Hattie who was affectionately known as "Weeze" received her education in the schools of Howard County. She was reared in a Christian home, accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and attended St. Stephens A.M.E. Church and became a member. Later, due to health and distance she became a member of Mt. Winans United Methodist Church. She was employed as the Head Cook at Randy's Restaurant for twenty-seven years. She was also the Head Cook at Trucker's Inn. Upon retirement, she and her sister, Helen Becky ventured out as entrepreneurs and started their own Eatery in Glenn Burnie, Maryland. In her earlier days, she loved having fun, sitting out eating crabs, going to cookouts and being with family and friends. She loved people and had a beautiful smile. Her life and legacy will forever live in the hearts of those who had the pleasure and opportunity of knowing her. She leaves to cherish her precious memory; two sisters, Shaidal Rassaull Ethel Bracey and Helen Sampson; one brother, Calvin Matthews; two sisters-in-law, Ada Matthews and Catherine Matthews; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends, including two dear friends, Sharon Johnson and Stacey Cole Wilson
