Hattie Mae Jones , daughter of the late Eldora and John Lightner Sr. Hattie was born May 24,1940 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on October 1, 2015. At an early age, she met the love of her life, William louis Jones. They were united in matrimony on September 30, 1955. From this union, they had five children: Darlene Ward, Jeffery, Eric, Jacqueline Sheppard, and Deneen Mayfield. Hattie went to Caver Vocational-Technical High School and later graduated from Coppin State College with a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education. She taught in the Baltimore City Public School System. She was a devoted member of Saint Ambrose Church. She enjoyed watching television, solving brain teasers, and spending time with her family. She was an excellent cook and loved to host family events. She leaves to mourn her husband William Jones, five children, one brother John Lightner, one sister- in-law Barbara Lightner, one brother-in-law Ronald Jones, two son-in-Iaw's Ricky Ward and James Sheppard, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
