Hayes Lee Johnson, was born on January 8, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland to William and Catherine (Posey) Johnson. Hayes departed this life on December 16, 2014 after a short illness. Hayes was preceded in death by his parents, William and Catherine (Posey) Johnson and one sister, Aureila Bertha Campbell. Hayes grew up in the Baltimore City School System and worked at Poly- Western until his health forced him to resign. Hayes leaves to cherish his memory: four daughters, Nicole, Sharon, Fay and Xan; one son, William; his stepmother, Thelma Johnson whom he thought of as his mother; four sisters, Maxine (Jean) Witherspoon, Ber- nice Johnson-Brooks, Marie Johnson-Young and Maria Johnson-Shaner; three brothers, William H. Johnson, Robert S. Gross and Alano T. John- son of Goldsboro, North Carolina; his many grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives and devoted girlfriend, Dawn Thomen who also preceded him in death.
