Surrounded by the love of his family, on friday evening, October 31, 2008, God's angel of death was dispatched to bring home the humble soul of Haynie Stewart, Jr. who completed his earthly journey. On November 7, 1933, in Blackstone, Virginia, Haynie Stewart, Jr., one of five children was born to the late Haynie and Julia Stewart, Sr. Haynie completed his education in the Nottoway County Public School system in Virginia. On September 28, 1951, Haynie was united in Holy Matremony to Pinkie Pearl Gorson. From this union, four children were born. Haynie relocated with his young family to Baltimore, Maryland in the year 1952 where he resided for more than 56 years until his illness and brief stay at the Manor Care Nursing Home. Haynie was employed at the Lord Baltimore Press Company. After retiring from 25 years of service as a supervisor, Haynie then started and operated his own business, Stewart & Sons Automoblile repair Shop. This shop is still in existence as Ty's Cycle and operated by his son Tyrone. Haynie had a passion for automobles and motorcycles. He was a member of the Bandeerleros Motorcycle Club. Haynie was always a friend and willing to help anyone in need. His lifetime love for his family and friends was very passionate. The smile he always wore on his face let everyone know he loved and respected them. He was truly the life of the party with his comical impersonations, jokes, and delightful spirit. His son, Quentin preceded him in death on October 21, 1997. Haynie's memory will be cherished and honored by the love of his life, his devoted wife, Pinkie Pearl, his loving children Greta Boostie of Blackstone, Virginia, Julius Tyrone Stewart of Baltimore, Maryland, and Cynthia Braxton of Baltimore, Maryland; four caring granddaughters, Paulette, Tiffany, Lauren and Summer; seven great-grandchildren, Jawaun, Christopher, Brejai, Dante, Daiquan, Josiah, Jabriel; daughter-in-law, Brenda Stewart; son-in-law, Sam Braxton; a devoted cousin, Carl Foster Juanita, sisters, Thelma Tommy, Welther Hooks Frank; sisters-inlaw, Rosa Reavis, Emma Jones, Minnie Gordon, Gertrude Cooper, Bernice Stewart; Brother-in-law, Franklin Gordon Georgia; a surrogate son, Tony Olivis; lifetime friends, Clarence Brown, Riley Simpson; devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of lov9ng relatives, adopted children who knew and loved him, along with many friends.
