Obituary

On, September 16, 2018, Helen Hunter Bogan, departed her life
after a brief illness.

Helen, affectionately known as "Nana" to her grandchildren was
born May 17, 1937 to the late [annie Pittman Hunter and Mark
Hunterin Brooklyn, NY.

As a child, Helen loved art and music. She also loved her church,
Mt. Sinai Baptist church in Brooklyn, NY. There she accepted
Jesus Christ as her Lord & Savior. She began serving Him immediately
on the church choir and usher board.

Helen received her education in the New York City Public School
System. She received her Associates degree from the Bronx
Community College and went on to work as a paraprofessional in
New York City Public School System. After relocating to Baltimore
in 1986 she continued her work as a paraprofessional with Baltimore
City Public Schools. Helen retired from Baltimore City Public
Schools with 40 years of service. She found great joy in her
service to the children she encountered each year.

Helen married William Bogan and from that union her eldest
son was born, Michael D. Bogan. She later gave birth to Mark
and the twins, Kevin & Kesha. She also adopted a son, Warren
Pittman. She devoted her life to the care of her biological
children and a host of other children she cared for.

Helen-enjoyed spending time with her family and decorating.
Christmas was her favorite time of year. She was a fashionable
woman who loved to shop for herself and her home. Helen was
caring, generous and loving. All who encountered her remember
her enduring kindness.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Kesha Bogan. two
sons Mark McKelvey and Kevin Bogan. One daughter-in-law Denetria
Bogan. Five granddaughters; Tecoya McKelvey, Krystine McDonald,
Takera "Nicole" . Woodrum, Trinee Woodrum and Shaia Bogan.
Five grandsons; Kyle Brown, Jarvis Bogan, Dimeneek Bogan, Daiquon
Bogan and Brian McDonald. Nine













great grandchildren, three sisters, Marjorie Jones, Betty Denson and Lavinia


















Edwards. Cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

Preceding her death, her beloved sons, Micheal D. Bogan, Warren Pittman
and daughter-in-law Rose Bogan.
