on July 18, 2006, Helen Muta Chavez nee Mulira passed away suddenly at age 46. She was the daughter of Lena Muliro and the late Joseph Muliro former Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya. Helen was married to the love of her life Michael Chavez, for three wonerful years. She leaves to mourn two dear sisters, Anna Muliro Robinson and Flo Whiteman, two brothers, Joel Muliro and George Muliro, amny cherished aunts, uncles,several nieces, nephews. She was a dear sister-in-law to many members of the Chavez and Robinson families and a wonderful friend to many others. Helen was born on December 29, 1959 in Kenya, East Africa. She came to the United States as a freshman to attend Wooster College in Wooster, Ohio. Helen then transferred to Amerian University and completed her Bachelor's Degree in Economics. She was a graduate of the Unversity Of Baltimore, receiving a Masters Degree in Economics. She retuned to Kenya to work initially for the Kenya government. Helen subsequently obtained employment as a consultant for the prestigious firm of Price Waterhouse Coopers, and remained there for several years. Helen returned to the U.S. to join her sister, Snna. After a few years, Helen met and married her friend and soulmate, Mike Chavez and was very happy in their life teogather. In the U.S. Helen worked for several companies, including P-B Health Home Care Agency, where she made many friends. Most recently, she worked in a management position with G.E. in Columbia, Maryland. She grew up Europe as the dauther of the Kenya Ambassador. She was well traveled and attended schools in Nairobi, Kenya, Stockholm; Swenden and York, England. Helen loved to spend time with her beloved husband Mike, and heer in-laws in the Robinson family. She enjoyed traveling and a little gardening. she was a joy to all who knew and loved her and she will be greatly missed.
