Helen Delores Cooper, was born March 18, 1931 to the late Dorothy
Dungee Smith in Roanoke, Virginia. She departed this earthly life on
Saturday, June 4,2016 at Sinai Hospital .

Helen received her education in the Public Schools and completed the
11 th grade at Orange High School in Roanoke, VA .

Helen loved singing, in fact she sang on the Gospel Radio Station in
Roanoke, VA. Later she moved to Baltimore, Maryland to be closer to
her mother, Dorothy Dungee Smith. Helen attended many churches.
However she became a member of Fulton Baptist Church in 2011.

Helen loved children. She enjoyed playing cards and going to the
casino. She was well respected and admired by all .

Helen met and married Weaver Dorsey in 1948. Later she married
Leonard Nathaniel Cooper. Helen was a proud and devoted mother of
seven children.

She leaves to cherish her memory : her children, Jean Dungee, Marva
Dorsey-Lee, Carroll Dorsey, Brenda Ine z Cooper , Yvonne Elaine Coo-
per and Edwin F . Cooper; her daughter the late Edwina Goldring
deceased November 17, 2015; 8 stepchildren, Leonard Cooper Jr.,
Bernadine Harris, Leon Cooper, Carolyn Roane, Barbara Roths, Bruce
Cooper, Janet Barksdale and Saundra Butler; Helen has 12 grandchil-
dren, 25 great grandchildren , 1 great-great grandchild;l aunt , Louise
Dungee Jones, 3 cousins , Carolyn Dungee, Sharon Dungee and Cornell
Jones; two daughters-in-law, Pamela Dorsey and Betty Coley-Cooper;
two sons-in-law, Carl Cooper and John Goldring; close friends, Cyrus
Drayton, Lillian Crosby and a host of many more friends.

Although she is gone, she will not be forgotten. She will be truly missed.
