Obituary

On Friday, July 7, 2006, Henrietta Lula Boulware, daughter of the late Willis Green Allen and Saddie Hunter Allen, entered into her eternal rest after a brief illness, with family, church members and her Pastor at her side. Henrietta was born on November 25, 1925 in Baltimore, Md. She was educated in the Baltimore city Public School System. In the early 1960's she moved to New York where she worked as a PCX switchboard Operator. Upon moving back in the mid 1960's she became a long time, faithful, and dedicated employee of Hiken's Formal Wear until she retired. Henrietta loved listening to the word and was a dedicated member of the Allen A.M.E. Church, which she loved dearly. She sat downstairs in church because she was unable to climb the stairs. She also loved jazz and she loved to travel. Neglecting herself, she still helped others, never complaining. She made it a daily routine to call and visit her niece and great grand-nieces. After their visits, she would return home to watch her daytime dramas. Preceding her in death was her brother, William F. Allen; three nephews, Albert, Leroy and Ernest. She leaves to cherish her memory: nephews and nieces, Neal Earlene Allen of Clayton, N.C.; Vanessa Allen, William Glynis Allen, David Clark, all of Baltimore, Md.; Delores Sweets of Glenn Burnie, Md.; four great-nephews and three great-nieces, three great great-nieces; and one great great-nephew and a host of other relatives and friends. A dear and close friend, Gloria Carter, who is like a sister. Three loving and devoted friends from her church family, Dorothy Jean Singletary, Marie Gardner and Brenda Hollingsworth and a long time friend of the family, Carey Bradley.
