IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Henry
Green
June 6, 1935 – December 19, 2018
Henry Green, son of the late Mae Belle and Richard Green, was
born on June 6, 1935 in Summerton, South Carolina. He departed
his life on December 19, 2018 after a brief illness.
Henry was educated in the South Carolina School System. Henry
moved to Maryland in his early 20's with his brothers and became a
construction worker which he loved. He retired from Whiting-Turner

Henry was a humble man who was always willing to help anyone
he came in contact with. He was also a family man and was
blessed with three children. One preceded him in death,
William Green. Henry met the love of his life Ruth Lewis,
50 years ago and was devoted and loved her so much until
her passing in June 2014. He had a very special bond
with his granddaughter Terry with whom he helped raised
with Ruth. He had so much love for his parakeet Pete. Henry
enjoyed cooking, especially his famous fried chicken, listening
to Gospel music, quartets were his favorite and watching
wrestling with granddaughter Terry. John Cena was his
favorite wrestler.
Henry leaves to cherish his memory: his children, Melvin and Ernestine
(Tina) Green; stepson, Walter (Toe) Wilson (Patricia); sister, Susie
Murray; brothers, Robert, Samuel and Moses Green; special nephew,
Charles Green (Brenda); host of grandchildren and great-grand
children; adopted children, Mary Virginia Mayo, Bernice and Leroy
Singletary; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend Melvin
Pettiford. Henry was also preceded in death of 17 siblings.
