Herbert D. McCoy, son of Mattie Satterfield and Carlton McCoy, was born on November 17, 1968 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the oldest of two children. He received his early education in the Baltimore City Public School System and attended Southwest Christian Academy where he received his High School Diploma. He went on to further his education attending a law enforcement school. He worked at Mrs. Iries Potato Chip Factory, University of Maryland Hospital, and Bon Secour Hospital where he departed from a sudden illness. Herbert b.k.a. "Champ," loved wrestling, basketball, football, movies, and music; especially James Brown. He enjoyed to cook on the grill and was just a friend to anyone that knew him. He had a smile that would light up a room. If anyone needed him he was right there and will be truly missed and never forgotten. Champ loves his grandmother Janie Satterfield dearly whom preceded him in death. He was never upset about anything and kept a smile on his face no matter what. He leaves to mourn; his mother, Mattie Satterfield; sister, Shadeeka Boatwright; special cousins, Michelle Clements, James Clements, Charnice Johnson and Shavonne Lee; and a host of other relatives and friends.
