Herman Franklin Anderson, son of the late Rufus and Carrie Anderson, was born April 26, 1934 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on Sunday, July 16, 2017 after a short illness.

Herman received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System.

Herman joined the military in 1951 and he received an honorable discharge in April 1954. He reenlisted for three more years and was honorably discharged again in 1957. While in the service, he was a paratrooper with the II Airborne Division and loved to talk about it. He loved singing and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He loved the Temptations.

Herman met the love of his life in the late forties after his first enlistment. He married Marion Beverly on December 30, 1954 and she traveled with him until he was stationed in Germany. After his discharge, he worked for the Baltimore Transit Company, the Federal Government, and he was also employed with Johnson Control as an engineer. He retired to enjoy life with his wife, the American Legion, and the V.F.W.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Marion; sister, Esther White; brother, Bernard Anderson; three sisters-in-law, Theresa Anderson, Mary Harper, and Shirley Davis; eight nephews, ten nieces, great nephews and nieces; his God daughter, Karen Harper (his niece); devoted friends, Frank and Lorenzo and a host of other relatives and friends. Herman was preceded in death by 4 brothers-in-law, 1 sister-in-law, and 3 nephews.
