SUNRISE: HERMAN L. MAYO, beloved son of the late Henry and Selma Mayo, was born on June 2, 1953. SUNSET: Herman slipped away from those who loved him into the arms of God on April 22, 2013, after a brief illness. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCES: Herman received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. He later joined the United States Navy where he served on the U.S.S. Independence until he was honorably discharged. Herman was employed with ADT Alarm Systems, the FDA and held other various jobs before becoming a Master Plumber and going to work for Levindale where he worked over seventeen years. MEMORIES: Herman was also known to all of his friends and family as "Smokey," "Junior," "Leroy" or "Slick." Herman loved watching television, listening to music, playing pool, fishing, going to the movies, wood working, walking his beloved dog Buttons and riding his motorcycle. Herman will forever be missed by his loving and devoted wife, Sandra Mayo; daughter, Brandi Mayo; two sisters, Shirley Whitfield and Glendora Mayo; two brothers, Harold and Dwayne Mayo; mother-in-law, Ollie James; five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
