Howell Ashford Sr., was born March 19, 1942 in Vidalia, Georgia to the late John Olin and Ophelia Ashford. He departed this life on August 30,2014. He attended local public school in Vidalia, GA until leaving for West Philadelphia, PAfor better job opportunities. Once in Philadelphia he worked as a security officer and then as a skilled labor in construction. He found his passion working as laborer until he was unable to perform such duties anymore. He moved to Baltimore and there he met his wife and settled down. Howell's hobbies included gardening, fishing, watching sports and spending time with friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Ashford; one sister, Maggie Jean Manokey; andfour brothers, John, Harvey, Carlos and Joseph. He leaves to mourn: two daughters, Shirley Jean and Lacy; one son, Howell Ashford Jr.; three grandchildren, Tondayo, Karisma, and DeAn- gelo; three great granddaughters, Toniyah, Kameron and Taylor; two sisters, Marie Askew and Brenda Howard and a host of nieces, nephews, and other sorrowing relatives and friends.
