Obituary

Hugh T. Jackson, the beloved son of the late James H.
and Pauline B. Jackson was born May 5, 1944 in Baltimore,
MD. He departed this life on September 15, 2018 after a
lengthy illness.

Hugh, or Ossie as he was affectionately known, attended
the Baltimore City Public Schools where he graduated from
Edmondson High School.

Hugh loved working with children. He worked for many years
as a youth counselor at the Hickey School and Montrose School
for boys. His passion was helping underprivileged and trouble
children. He believed if he could help somebody as he passed
along then his living would not be mvam.

Hugh came from a singing family. Coming from a family that
loved singing for the Lord, Hugh sang on numerous choirs
at the Sharp Street Methodist Church, Shiloh C C Church and
City Temple Baptist Church. His baritone voice will forever
be missed.

Although he did not have any children his nieces and nephews
were his 'babies'. He was more than an uncle he was a proud
father figure to them. Giving words of encouragement, guiding
them on the right path and most of all not judging them made
them feel the genuine love he had for them. His famous words
"we all make mistakes but learn from them and move on".

Hugh leaves to cherish his memories: his partner, Rodney Thompson; one
sister, Amy A. Jackson; two nieces, Hope D. Jackson and Jacquetta
Dorsey-Butler; two great nieces, Denise Y. Andrews and Makenzee N.
Butler; five great nephews, Dominic M. Andrews, Robert J. Lynch, Tevin
L. Lynch, Jordan J. Andrews and Kelly N. Butler; one great great niece,
Amorah D. Andrews; two great great nephews, Jayden D. Sykes and
Elton M. Andrews; a host of other family and friends. Viewing Joseph H. Brown Jr. Funeral Home Wednesday, September 26, 2018 04:00 PM - 08:00 PM Email Details 2140 N. Fulton Ave
