IDA MAE MCLEAN, the daughter of Hubert and Ruth Mclean was born March 29, 1944, in Wade, North Carolina. She transitioned from Earth into God's eternal rest on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Bridging Life Dove House after a brief illness at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Glenda Dow; husband, Sammy Dow; mother, Ruth Mclean; father, Hubert Mclean; brothers, Willie Mclean and Gerald Frank Mclean; Sister, Agnes Mclean-Williams and God-brother, Charles Cox. Ida departs this life and leaves to treasure her joyful and sweet memories her children: Victor "Rick' Dow (Doris), Camilla 'Trina' Dow-Allen (Chucky), Wardell "Wardy' Dow; her seven grandchildren, Wardell 'Dominique' Dow Jr. (Centeria), Joshua "Josh' Dow, Victor 'VJ' Hammond (Ashley), Quincy Gerald Dow, Morgan A. Dow, Darius Allen, Corey Hall (Toya); her seven great grandchildren, Isaiah "Zay', Aniyah, Sarayah, Kyrah, Jeremiah Capelle 'Kolo', Josiah, and Amara. She is also survived by her brother Ida was educated in the Mount Winan's area of Baltimore, Maryland. As a young woman, Ida was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior of whom she loved lifting up in song. Ida was our personal songbird, and she could 'SANG'. She was also a singer in a local gospel group called the Allan Specials. Ida was indeed talented, and, in her day, she was known for dancing the female version of the James Brown dance.
Married to Samuel 'Sammy' Dow, Ida never retired from working for herself as a wonderful homemaker. Her specialty was cooking, and she loved, cared for, and nurtured everyone who ever visited or resided in her home. Through the years, Ida reared six of her grandchildren from birth to the start of elementary school age and three of them to adulthood. Ida was an incredibly kind and caring daughter, mother, mother-in-law, sister, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and dear friend to everyone she met. She cherished infants and taught them the values of happiness, love, and kindness, adding that everything will be fine in due time.

She is also survived by her brother Hubert McLean Jr., her sisters Pearl Dale 'Big Sis', Gale Rivers 'My Girl", Brenda Mclean 'My Baby', and Uncle Clarence Issac and Aunt Fannie Mae Williams of Washington DC. Sister-In-Law's: Dorothy 'Dot' Dow, Betty "Jean' Dow-Ferguson, Rosa Lee Goins, and a mass of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Bonus family includes: the Cox Family (Oswego!!), (Children) Rodney McLean, Darren Fitzgerald, Yolanda Fitzgerald, Trinetta Williams, Linnea Williams, and Anthony 'Son' Faust. Her Sister/Cousin Josephine Richardson. Very special friends include: the Claridy Family of Quantico, Cindy Barnes, Susie Hook, Milton & Pam Courts, and Dianne Little-Mazyck.
