We are here today to celebrate the life journey of Mother Inez
Shell. Mother Shell was born in Laurens County, S. C. on
December 22, 1910 to the late Herbert Hood Sr. and Hanna Sullivan
Hood. She was the third child of twelve siblings, 10 of which
preceded her in death.

She received her education in the South Carolina Public
School System. While in school, she met Larry Shell Sr. whom
was her lawfully wedded husband who preceded her in death.
From the union Larry and Inez had 1 son and 3 daughters.

Mother Shell began her Christian Journey at an early age. She
truly loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the Center
Rabon Baptist Church in Gray Court, S. C. After being a long
time faithful member there, she and her family relocated to
Baltimore where she would eventually become a life-long member
of St. Paul Freewill Baptist Church.

Mother Shell was a woman of many talents. She loved to read,
cook, draw, paint, crochet, knit, sew, make dolls, making quilts,
telling many stories of her childhood and taking care of others in
need. She was a loving and caring person. She was always
. willing to give words of wisdom to anyone who knew her.

Mother Shell became ill after almost 105 glorious years on this
earth. She is survived by one sister, Thelma B. Rice (Richmond
Hill, New York); one son, Larry Shell Jr. (daughter-in-law,
Kimico Shell), 3 daughters, Addie Carter, Juanita Evans
(son-in-law, Roland Evans Sr. - Preceded in Death), Bernice Jeter
(all of Baltimore, MD); 23 Grandchildren (David Carter Sr. - Preceded
in death); 46 great grandchildren, 60 great-great grandchildren,
