Irene Blackwell, daughter of Bertha Brown (Deceased) and George

Brown (deceased) was born September 6,1926 in Virginia. She went

home to be with the Lord on April 12, 2019.

Irene met Lawrence Blackwell at Laura Alexanders shoe shop and fell

in love with him. They were united in marriage in 1958, from this

union two children were born, Carolyn and Darryl.

Irene was a professional child care provider and

shared her love and caring for over 30 years. Irene loved to sing,

cook delicious meals, and praised God every Sunday at Mt. Pleasant

Baptist Church where She was a devoted member for over 55 years.

She loved to watch family feud every day, five times if she could,

and oh could she fry up some good, good fish. Nothing could bring

a smile to Big Mama's (nickname), face like steamed crabs. Irene

loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spending

special time with them.

She leaves to celebrate her life: Three daughters Florence McDowell,

Viola Taylor, Carylon Blackwell, Two Sons, Lawrence and Darryl, two

special loving grandchildren, Shasta and Richard Harris, thirteen

grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren, fifteen great-great

grandchildren, three- devoted friends for life, Barbra, Nicey, and

Mary, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
