Irene Brown, was born to Samuel Ishway and Blanche Whittmer on February 3, 1925 and departed for eternal rest on May 3, 2006. Irene was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and worked as a private duty nurse for sixty years. Irene at an early age confessed Christ in her life and joined McKenny Memorial where she remained faithful, serving on the Usher Board and many other various duties as she was called to do. Irene was an Eastern Star for many years. She loved flowers and gardening. She was a block watcher and community activist before relocating to BonSecours Senior Building, where she was also very active. Irene was a lovable mother and grandmother, doing whatever she could for who she could. Irene was married to James Kesler, and to this union there were two children, James Kesler and Larry Kesler both preceded her in death. She later married Willie Brown and adopted one son. She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Cupid Leclair; brother, Samuel Ishway; sister, Violet Reed; sister-in-law, Hester Ishway; two daughters-in-law, Vivian Kesler and Alberta Kesler; seven grandchildren, Dara, Monica, James Jr., Jill, Walter, Lorretta and Jerome grandchild, Raymond Tony preceded her in death; eleven great-grandchildren, fifteen great-great-grandchildren; three devoted friends, Ms. Ruth, Elder and Eldress Wheeler of Richmond, Va; and a host of other relatives and friends.
