Irene Hadley, the daughter of the late James Alexander Braaxton and daughter go Gertrude Prentiss was born on July 7, 1921 in Toano, Virginia.

Irene departed her life Wednesday October 16, 2019 after battling a long unfortunate illness. In 1946, Irenemrt and married Henry Hadley and together they were married for 65 lovely years.

Irene was a lifelong member of Zion Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board for over 20 years. Irene was preceded in triumphed by Calvin Hadley (son) and Henry Hadley (husband).

Irene along with her husband, raised her brothers six children. Theodore (deceased), Richard (Deceased), Carolyn,Charles, Rosalind and Carl. Irene was a very kind and loving woman. She cared for and raised many children inside and out of her home. Irene was loved and respected by everyone she knew, even by individuals she didn't know. Irene had the kind of spirit that made everyone want to be in her presence, children were drawn to her as if she was a magnet.

Irene leaves to mourn her daughters/nieces; Carolyn Hadley McCoy and Rosalind Hadley. Two sons/nephews; Carl Mobley andCharles Hadley. Granddaughters; Latoya, Odella, Charnita, Kia, Mona and Myra. Grandson; Troy, Jonathan, Calvin and Henry.
