IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Irene
Hulin
May 27, 1961 – November 8, 2024
Irene Hulin was born to the late Rosa Hulin and Gary Moore in Baltimore, Maryland, but was raised by her stepfather James Freeman Hulin (all preceded her in death.)
She attended and graduated from Forest Park High School in 1979. She then went on to further her education at the Community College of Baltimore and graduated in 1987 with an AA degree in General Studies. She worked throughout the years in Nursing and Mental Health Agencies. She volunteered in various schools, receiving many certificates and awards.
She was baptized and accepted Christ as her personal Savior at a very young age. Her Christian Walk began at Southern Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Long. She joined New Elizabeth Baptist Church as a teenager, but returned back to Southern Friendship under the leadership of Rev. John Torbit. There she served as an Usher, a Member of the Missionary Ministry, and the Combined and Vocal Choir as the Recording Secretary. In 2022 she said the Lord told her to move, so she then joined Providence Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Douglass E. Summers. She joined the M.G. Woods Ministry, the Missionary Ministry, the Comfort Choir and the Gospel and Male Chorus Choir, while regularly attending Sunday School, Bible Study and Prayer Service. She loved her church family and looked forward to coming to church.
She loved to bake, play Spades, sing and spend time with family and friends. She was always there to help others any way she could. Although "Auntie", as she was affectionately known, had no children of her own, she was a mother figure - stepping in to help raise her nieces and nephews and their children. She was especially fond of Bishop. She'd say he was "the child the Lord blessed her with."
She leaves to cherish her memory: three sisters, Mary Steele, Annie Morris and Janice Moore (7 sisters preceded her in death); brother-in-law, Zack "Junebug" Steele; brother, Michael Moore (2 brothers preceded her in death); a special uncle, Carter Battle (1 uncle preceded her in death); two aunts, Verna Williams and Mary Vereen (3 aunts preceded her in death); a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
