Isaac Reed Steete, affectionately known as ''Ike,'' was the son of the late Georgianna and Benjamin Steele. Ike was born on June 2, 1923 in Rockingham, N.C. He was called home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2007. Ike attended the Green Lake School in Richmond County, N.C. he accepted Christ at an early age and was later baptized. He attended Mt.Zion Church. Ike enlisted in the U.S. Army on October 27, 1942. After completing his military service, Ike moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 1944. He worked at Sparrows Point and the Bethlehem Steel Company. In 1946 he met and married the former Caroline Waters. Out of this union they were blessed with four children. Ike was a dedicated Oriole fan and rarely missed a game until his illness. He enjoyed telling outrageours stories that made people laugh. He enjoyed going to the race trace. He is survived by: his wife, Caroline; cour children, Golria, Sharlene, Glenn and Maurice; stepdaughter, Barbara stepson, Jerome preceded him in death; thirteen grandchildren, eleven great -grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Iris and Martiza; son-in-law, Donald; two sisters, Hattie and Sarah; two sisters-in-law, Mary and Ora; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
