Isaac June Watson, Sr., was born February 6, 1930 to the late James F. Watson and Lessie E. Qualls in Roanoke Rapids, Halifax County, North Carolina. He went to be with the Lord peacefully in his sleep on March 15, 2015. Isaac (Ike) moved to Baltimore, Maryland as a child. He lived on Barre St. in South Baltimore where he met his future wife, Delores A. Watson. He started working as an automobile mechanic at his father's garage. Many came to know Ike as a mechanic who worked for various taxi cabs companies in the city. Ike was a very congenial and likeable person who enjoyed interacting with people. Early on he enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, playing cards and shooting craps. In the later years he hung out with his friends at the local 7-11 Store followed by Capel's Barber Shop. He loved life, loved people, and loved to be on the go. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Watson; grandson, Dante Watson; two brothers, Job Watson and Jesse Watson and four sisters, Sarah O'Maro, Charity Chester, Mary Ward and Pearl Moore. He is survived by: his loving and devoted wife, Delores A. Watson; six children, Michele Wright, Isaac Watson, Jr., James Watson, Andre (Bajah) Watson, Keith Watson and June Watson; two sisters, Lucille Watson and Jean Gay; eight grandchildren, Jamila Wright, Samuel Wright, Michael Watson, Chaneara Watson, Latoya Watson, A 'liya Wat- son, Aniya Watson and Isaac Watson III; fourteen great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
