IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Isaiah
Simmons
April 17, 1930 – February 19, 2021
Isaiah Simmons (affectionately known as Deac or Fice), was born in Cordesville, South Carolina on April
17, 1930. The son of late Tom Flarisee and Mary Simmons Flarisee Gathers, he later relocated to Moncks
Corner, SC with his family.
Isaiah Simmons honorably served his country in the post World War II era from 1948 to 1952 receiving his
training at Fort Knox Kentucky. Private Simmons was assigned to a armored tank unit and deployed to
Germany. He vividly recalled his time on the ship crossing the Atlantic and upon landing sending up praises
to God for delivering him there safely. He spoke fondly of his experience working on tanks and living in
another country. Shortly after his return to the United States Mr. Simmons was honorable discharge from
the United States Army.
Deacon (Deac) Isaiah Simmons, Sr. joined the Church of Christ in the early 1960's under the Pastorate of
the late Mother. After her death he continued his membership there under the late Bishop Charlie Wilson,
Church of Christ, Household of Faith Pillar of Ground and Truth. He was a dedicated Deacon and servant
to Bishop Wilson, until his death in 1991. After Bis. Wilson's death, Deacon Simmons & Mother Simmons
(deceased), being led by a longtime friend, Dea. Walter Dukes, joined the Full Gospel Apostolic Church,
(now - Inner Court Ministries), Pastor - Bis. Jonathan Wallace, Sr. in 1991.
For 30 years Deacon Simmons has been a dedicated and faithful Senior Deacon and Servant to Bis. Wallace
and the Inner Court family, until the Pandemic prohibited him from attending church. He was loved by his
entire church family and Deacon Simmons never failed to let everybody know that he loved his Pastor,
Bishop Wallace and his Inner Court church family! He was proud of his relationship with the Lord Jesus
Christ and witnessed of his goodness to anybody that would listen to him. Deacon Simmons could always
be seen sitting on the front row and often he would join in with a praise to his God, "dancing" under the
power of God. He was so proud and thankful that God allowed him to live to see his 90th birthday last April.
The Inner Court Family will "deeply" miss our "Deacon Simmons".
