Jack Nicholas McCoy, known as "Jackie", the son of the late Virginia Bush, was born on January 15, 1945 in Sumpter South Carolina. He departed this life on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Gilchrist Hospice Center. At an early age, Jackie moved to Baltimore where he was raised by Mrs. Laura and his Aunt Pump, He attended Baltimore City Public School and after graduation he was drafted into the United States Army. Later Jackie married Betty McCoy and they attended Huber Memorial Baptist Church. Jackie was well known in Baltimore City, mainly in the Druid Hill/Reservoir neighborhood. His favorite pass time was playing chess, rolling skating, listening to music and fixing anything that was broken. Jackie was always willing to help in any way he could. He was a very prideful man and he dealt with his illness privately until he needed his family's assistance. He was grateful for all the assistance from his children and son-in-law. Jackie fought a good fight he will be greatly missed and always loved. 2 Corinthians 5:8... We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Jackie leaves to mourn wife, Betty McCoy, a son, John Christopher, two daughters, Lisa McCoy and Katrina Cousins, a son- in-law, Michael Cousins, two sons that preceded him in death, Fredrick and Jamal McCoy three step children, Robert Cooper, Denise and Betty Gray, three grandchildren Ryan, Taylor and Jordan, one Sister-n-law, Gwendolyn Christopher; four Brother-in-laws, George, Walter, Roland and Charles, a best friend for over 45 years, Johnny "Cool" Cooper and a host of relatives and friends.
