Obituary

Jacqueline Lee Johnson, 59, of Brooklyn Park, passed away suddenly in her home on April 17, 2026, after a years- long battle with cancer. She was born Jacqueline “Jackie/Midget/Midge” Somerville on October 20, 1966 in a Annapolis MD, to parents Jeannie Holmes-West-Jefferson and James Somerville Sr.

Early on, Jackie took pride in being a dedicated home nurse and took over her mother’s position caring for a local Annapolis resident for over 10 years be ore his passing. An entrepreneur at heart who never turned down an opportunity to learn, she later obtained her certification as an IRS tax preparer and public notary. She started and ran her own business—Dunright Tax Services—for many years, while also assisting with her husband's moving and hauling business, Johnson & Johnson.

Outside of her career, she ne greatly e enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved cookouts, cruises, and random nights singing karaoke ac home with her daughters and best Steud. Lisa Freeman, as well as the occasional trip to Maryland Live. She also spent time with her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, as well as her sister, Deborah West her brother. Vansie “Bam Bam” West; and her beloved nephew, Dontaye Spencer.

She is survived by her loving husband. Leroy Johnson, with whom she spent 30 years; her younger brother, James “Jamie” Somerville, three children, Kevin White, Talaisha White, and Lakeisha “Keisha” Johnson; two additional children whom she loved and eared for as her own, Andre White Jr. and Quay Johnson-Bright; and three grandchildren, Ja’Ryan White, Ja’Kyra White, and TyMari Feliciano. 

Jackie will be remembered for her smile, kindness, profound intellect, resilience, optimism, and endless love for those around her
