Obituary

Jacqueline Elizabeth Smith (nee Edenburgh), the daughter of the late
Lula Mae and Roland Edenburgh was born on October 24, 1950
in Baltimore, Maryland. Jacqueline departed this life quietly on
Thursday morning at 3:30 a.m. at Baltimore Washington Medical
Center after a short illness.

Jacqueline attend Baltimore City Public School. As a teenager
Jacqueline met and married the late Lee Smith. After moving to
Cherry Hill Community in Baltimore Jacqueline instantly loved
her community. She was committed to help improve her
neighborhood. She became involved in her tenant counsel and
soon becoming president of the tenant counsel. She loved helping
her friends and her neighbors by doing volunteer work in the
community as a result gained employment at Our House Family
Support Center as a teen parent educator. Ms. Jackie as she was
affectionately known as, loved the work she was doing helping
young adults become great parents. She was a mentor to all.
Ms. Jackie loved and was loved by all in Cherry Hill Community
where she provided loyal service for over 15 years.

Soon after, she would start a new career at Langton Green Inc. as a
manger for disable individuals. She managed several homes during her
14 year career. Ms. Jackie loved her individuals and they loved her,
they were a part of her family. She was most happiest when caring for
her individuals.

Throughout her life, Jacqueline was a loving and devoted mother to her
children and grandchildren.

She leaves to mourn: one daughter, Towanda Shell; two sons,
Levi S. Smith and Omar H. Smith; five granddaughters, Ceairat Shell,
Ce'Neeka J. Shell, Char-Dai J. Shell, Asia B. Smith and
Makayla A. Smith; two grandsons, Andre M. Lake and
Omar H. Smith Jr.; three sisters-in-law, Lorraine Carter, Patricia,
Barbee and Sharon McDaniels; one brother-in-law, Joseph Smith and
a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
