Jamar Antonio Matthews better known as "Goldie" was born on April 13, 1984 in Baltimore, Maryland at Sinai Hospital. He was the eldest of five children to the late Sheila Johnson and the late Howard Kenner Matthews. Jamar passed suddenly on the morning of February 8th. Jamar was very intelliqent. He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System. Jamar successfully completed a program at North American Trade Schools with a 4.0 average and Perfect Attendance. He spent numerous years working at various jobs including AMF Pikesville Lanes, McDonald's corporation, and Pimlico Automotive. Jamar LOVED HIS FAMILY! The majority of his time was spent devoted to his family. He loved his family not just through words but in actions. His love was transmitted through the powerful hugs that he gave us. When Jamar was around we always felt safe and protected. When he was little, he enjoyed spending summers in New Jersey at his God Mother's house with his cousins. Into adulthood, he continued to experience some of life's most EPIC MOMENTS with his family. Jamar's illuminating smile was a reflection of his true spirit. Cookouts, parties, or just spontaneous family gatherings were made that much better with him there. Jamal was very athletic. He enjoyed playing basketball and football. One of his favorite pastimes was playing video games with his little brother, Michael.
