JAMES ALTON BROWN , SR., son of the late Wesley
and Harriet Brown, was born on September 16, 1923 in
Chestertown; Maryland.

He received his education in the Kent County Public
School System. After graduating from Garnett High
School James went into the Army.

He accepted Christ at a young age and loved to tell you
how good God's been to him. He moved to Baltimore in
1943 where he married the late Serena Gertrude Jones.

He retired from Social Security and Easton Product,
then he went into business on his own and was very
successful.

At the age of 85, he decided to retire and take it easy.
He loved to talk to people and loved to sit on the front
porch.

His sons, James Brown Jr. and Lewis, preceded him in
death.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughters, Beverly
Ann, Deveta, Carolyn and Maxine; son, Alvin; eleven
grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and a host
of relative and friends, Joe Becker.

He also leaves to cherish his memory his most loved and
devoted friend of fifty years, Miss Peggy Waters.
