James Harvey Blackwell, - Ir . , better known as "Jimmy", was one of seven children. He was the only son of the late James Blackwell Sr. and Elizabeth Blackwell. Jimmy was born on September 18, 1939, in Baltimore , Maryland. He departed this life on October 21, 2016, after a lengthy illness.
Jimmy attended Baltimore City Public Schools. As a teenager Jimmy met and married Elaine White on January 10, 1959 andfrom this union, six children were born. Jimmy loved spending time with his family, especially his mother. He enjoyed listening to music and dancing. Some of his favorite groups were the Whispers,
The 0 'Jays, and the Commodores. He loved watching football, cooking and was a member of the Cherry Hill Social Club . As a young man Jimmy reupholstered furniture . He worked at Copper s and Eastern Products. In 1985, he went to workfor Ruppert Landscape, Inc., where he retired from in 2005 .
Jimmy was preceded in death by one sister Joyce Blackwell. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife
Elaine Blackwell, six children, Brian Blackwell, Cheryl Blackwell-Johnson, Kevin Blackwell, Stacey Pugh , James Blackwell III, and Crystal Moore. One daughter - in-law , Dorothy Blackwell, three son-in-law S, Michael Johnson , James Pugh and Stewart Moore , seven grandchildren , Brandi (Charles), Jazmine , Stefani , Tyrone, Travieon, Aysha, and Carlyse; one step grandchild, Kia, and one great-grandson Nigel. He also leaves behind five loving sisters, Barbara Lewis, La Verne Coleman, Cynthia Lance , Delores Franklin-Hill and Diane Jordan .
In addition he leaves five sister-in-law S, Vivian White, Ruth White, Natalie Braxton , Edna White, and Theresa White; four brother-in-law S, Lamont Hill, Steven Jordan, Edward White and Donald White; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin s and friends.
