Obituary

James Abe Cruz-Bey affectionately known as "Cruz", was called to be with
the Lord in Charlotte, North Carolina on August 6, 2017. Born February
12, 1942 and raised in Baltimore, Maryland; he was the only son of Annie
Centeno and Cornelius Cruz.

In his early years, Cruz attended the Baltimore City Public School System,
and was drafted into the Vietnam War in 1966 where he served as a
Combat Medic with an honorable discharge. James then went on to be a
insurance agent for 10 years, followed by 32 consecutive years of employ-
ment with the United States Postal Service.

At the age of 21, the Lord would bless Cruz with his first wife, the late
Andrea Myles Cruz-Bey. Out of this union of 15 years, was birthed Stacey
Wallace. In 1984, he married Blanche Eldora Cruz-Bey and they shared
27 years of wedded bliss. In this marriage Charles R. Allen and Robin V.
Allen Cox joined to complete this union.

Cruz lived life to the fullest, he enjoyed traveling, fishing, watching all
sports, and spending precious time with loved ones. He was a master
storyteller (Captain Thomas), and loved his westerns. He was a kind and
compassionate man, instilled with wisdom, integrity, and generosity. In
his latter years, he grew to know and love the Lord as the "Benevolent
One".

He leaves behind: his daughters, Stacey Cruz-Bey Wallace (Edward
William Wallace Jr.), and Robin V. Allen Cox (Robert Kenneth Cox); as
well as his one son, Charles R. Allen and his seven granddaughters, four
grandsons, and two great grands. Also grieving his loss is a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends.
