In the early morning hours of June 24, 2015, God saw the condition of His servant James Davis and softly said " ... Come Unto Me: I will relieve your pain and suffering and give you rest." James Davis was born May 22,1944, son of the late James P. and Ethel L. Davis, in Baltimore, Maryland. At the time of his death, he resided in Columbia, Maryland. James was educated in the Baltimore City School System. He served in the Untied States Marine Corp, the United States Marine Corp Reserve and the Army National Reserve in Arlington, VA. After gradu- ating from Morgan State College and attending graduate school at the University of Michigan, he worked for the state of Maryland and various agencies of the federal government, and retiredfrom the Equal Employ- ment Opportunity Commission in 2002. He enjoyed tennis, fishing, photography and working on his comput- er. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews and encouraged them to aim high and strive for excellence in everything they did. He leaves to mourn: his wife of 46 years, Sandra Davis; three brothers, Jerome Davis, Kevin Davis and Dennis Davis; two sisters, Rosalind Lucas and husband Edward, and Vonda Mit: and husband James; two sisters-in-law, Myra Stokes and husband Landrus and Elois Gilliam; nieces, nephews and good friends.
