James F. Smith, son of the late Maliki Smith and Jessie Rogers Rozzell, was born on August 21, 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life this life on August 27, 2008, after a lentghy illness. He received his education in the Baltimore City Public Schools. He was enlisted in the Marine Corps, Navy, and was a merchant seaman. He was also a truck driver for Baltimore Shippers, Monarch, and retired from Commerce. He married his former wife; and out of this union two children were born, Jeanette Bunn and Carolyn Cain. James Smitty, Bubby, or Poochie as he was Known enjoyed spending time with grandchildren - taking long driving trips. James made numberous friends wherever he went and will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew him. He was a true friend and family man. He leaves to mourn: his wife, Louise Smith ; children, Dwight who preceded him in death, Lisa, Jessica, and Keith; stepchildren, Barbara, Jacklin who preceded him in death, Alva, Nannette, Edward, and Lamont; sisters, Janis and Shellery; brothe, Noel Inez; aunts, Irma Jackson and Florence McCraw; uncle, Wayne; daughters-in-law, Valerie and Melanie; twenty-five grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
