JamesE. Hill, son of Evelyn Clemons andthe late Jerry Pope, was born on June 1, 1946 in Halifax County, North.Carolina. A TIME TO LIVE. TO LOVE,AND SERVE James also known as Reds, came to.Baltimore.Maryland at six months old. He received his education at Baltimore City Public Schools. Later he started working at several hospitals until his Aunt Margaret got him a job at Mercy Hospital, wh~e he worked for 39 years until he became ill in 2012 and retired. In November of 1964, he met the love of his life Cordelia Hunt, and courted till they were married on November 8, 1986. They had two children, Marcus Hill and Deborah Hill (she preceded him in death in 2008). He was a good person, he loved people, played' many jokes and loved-to turn his eyelids inside out to make the kids run from him, and then he would catch them and give them a big hug and kiss. There was nothing like the children running to him when he pulled up to get'a piece or two of candy from him out of his glove compartment. He shared the love he had for his grandchildren and great grandchildren during numerous trips for them. They were the love of his life as well, and he protected them like that. He loved to coll~ct figurUies for the house and coins as well. Another one of his favorite hobbies was planting his garden every year. As well as the way that he loved the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles; he enjoyed attending the opening day with Birdie' and Wilhelmina Turner for years. On Fathers' Day, June 15, 20;14 he ga.ve 'his !ife ~o Christ, the greatest gift of all he had received. James would help whenever you call him, to fix a tire, transportation to home, or work, he was just a dependable person to many. At 4:39a.m. On Friday, July 4, 2014 with his family by his side the Lord decided to take him home to be with the Saints that preceded him. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife; Cordelia Hill, son Marcus Hill (Debbie Hill), his loving mother Evelyn Clemons, brothers; Joe Hill(CharleneHill), Julius Clemons, Jeffery Clemons, Andrew Clemons, sisters; Helen Clemons(Sister), and Evelyn Clemons (who preceded him in death in 20(9), dchildren; Renita, Kurtrina, 'TYton; Makiya', M~yla', and l?-;mya', three great grandchildren; Kamyra, Josh and Bryan, Brother- in- Laws; William Hunt, James Phillips, Wayne Gilmore, Erwin Phillips, George Moore, Sisters- in- Laws; Karen Gilmore, Myra Richardson, Sylvia Jones; Cheryl Carter, Doreen Hunt-Moore, Rosalind Phillips, and Olivia Phillips. He also leaves behind special people in his life: Vn,~le Cephus Hill Sr., Aunt Bettie Sea, Cousin Fannie Winston, and friend Robertlet Jones, as well as a host of many, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
