Obituary

On November 16, 2017, in the evening hours, James Louis Scott ended his journey on this earth and went fron labor to eternal rest. Born on August 12, 1924 in North Carolina to the late Whit and Bessie Scott. He was th youngest of the Scott family. He believed he was baptized at a young age. At the age of 19, he came to Baltimor on a train for $1.00, which a friend sent him. He got his first job at Read's Drug Stores in downtown Baltimor: and found an apartment around the corner not far from where he worked.

A handsome man, where dating came easy, in the 1940's, he met and married Lillie Ruth Smith. From this unior there were two children, James Edward Scott, who preceded him in death, and Barbara Jean Scott Glenn. Th marriage ended in divorce and he gained full custody of his two children, along with his mother, Bessie. Work ing full and part-time jobs and taking care of his family became his number one priority.

James' jobs included being a shipping and receiving clerk at a whole sale company and a security job at a salvag. parts car lot. When he retired, he continued working in security at Towson Town Center and quickly becam the person in charge there. Although he never owned a car and his only means of transportation was the MT P he was always on time for work and was commended and awarded for always being on time. He also receive awards for his dedication to his work ethics.

A detailed person, with only a sixth-grade education, early in life he became interested in investing. He starte his financial planning wisely and with his knowledge and understanding, he could walk into any financial insti tution without intimidation, negotiate and correct their mistakes. He kept every piece of paper and receipts t, back up any discrepancies.

Some of the things he enjoyed were working on his financial investments, reading the newspaper, keeping u with current events and eating a good meal.

James, Scotty, or Mr. Scott can be classified as a working man, a caring man, an on time man and a wise man. H never waivered from what he believed in.
