James Anthony Lee, Sr., son of the late Van Lee Sr. and Alma Lee was born on February 16, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland. James was one of seventeen children and departed this life on Septem- ber 21, 2014. James was known to family and friends by his middle name, Anthony or affectionately called "Lee", "Hump" or as he would sometimes call himself "Stagger Lee". He received his education at Baltimore City Public Schools and was employed by the Baltimore City Public School System until his death. Anthony had what you would call "the gift of gab" and had no prob- lem making friends wherever he went. Once you met him, you were instantly attracted to his kind, loving, and funny personality. When in his presence, you were sure to experience a good laugh and a good time. Anthony enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching football and baseball, listening to music and most of all, he loved to cook. He would often times brag about his cooking skills to whomever would lend him their ear. He also had a good niche for giving advice and guidance to the youth. When leaving social gatherings with friends and family, he would often leave by saying "Who loves you" or "Let not your heart be trou- bled because mines isn't troubled". Anthony will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. Anthony had two children that preceded him in death, his daughter Angela and his son Anthony. He leaves to mourn: his fiance', Angela "Bones" Purnell; three daugh- ters, April, Keisha and Tyesha; one son, James Jr.; two granddaugh- ters, Mariah and Ka'ziyah; his mother, Alma Lee; six sisters and six brothers, and a host of other relatives and friends. He also had a special love for his pet cat, "Junnie".
