James Douglas McNeil was born July 23rd, 1944 in Erwin, North Carolina to the late Dora Lee McNeil. He departed this life on March 16th , 2021 from a short illness.

James joined the Army Reserve at an early age and was Honorably discharged on September 30th, 1969. He was also employed by the Mary Jane Candy Company and then Bethlehem Steel.

James gave his life to Christ and was baptized on May 7th, 1989 at Harlem Park Community Baptist Church. He joined Greater Harvest Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Brent A. Brown and was an active member of the Usher Board.

James leaves to mourn: a daughter, Angie (Andrea) Green (Charles Green, spouse); 2 grandchildren, Warren S. Banks II (Jasman Banks, spouse), Kendra Montgomery (Darereis Montgomery, spouse), 5 great grandchildren (Kamari, Eian, Kyndal, Elijah and Chase) and a host of cousins, other relatives, church family and close friends.
