IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James E.
Peoples
June 29, 1942 – December 27, 2018
Born June 29, 1942, the oldest of nine children, who brought joy
to two of the most loving parents: Warren G. Peoples, Sr. and Lela
McQuillar Peoples. Full of life and joy with a smile that stayed
with you forever. His parents brought him to Baltimore as a small
boy, where he was educated in the public school system.
Later he served his country in the Army as a Weapons Expert and
did a tour in Germany. During his service he was awarded a safety
medal for driving and qualified Sharpshooter in marksmanship.
Later he returned home, and began working for Mass Transit
Administration, then known as Baltimore Transit Company (BTC).
He later retired with 39 years, plus 3 years of Military service. He
loved working with the public. The school kids nicknamed him
"Turtle", because no matter how much of a rush they were in, he
AL WAYS stuck to his schedule. One Christmas, they even gave
him a gold turtle pin that he proudly wore on his hat until the day
he retired. He had many nicknames. He was fondly called, "Pa",
by his siblings, because they all looked up to him and trusted his
opinions.
He had simple tastes. He loved a good steak, Black & Mild cigars,
country western music and old movies. He was a loving Son,
Brother, Father and Husband. He leaves to celebrate his memory,
a large and loving family and circle of friends.
He now goes to join his son, James Tyree Peoples, who he
lovingly nicknamed Sprout. May God Bless them and allow them
to sit at His feet with the lambs. He has passed his greatest test.
No more sorrow. No more pain. Job well done, good and faithful
Servant.
