Obituary

James C. Porter ,Sr., son of the late Spurgeon and Willie Mae Porter, was born on May 18, 1928 in Rich Square, North Carolina. He departed this life on Monday, December 25, 2006 at Vetern Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. He recieved his education in Rich Square, North Carolina. He was united in marriage to the late Ellen F. Porter on June 22, 1950 and out of this union four children were born, James Jr., Kenneth, Linda and Regina. He received an honorable discharge from the United State Army on December 18,1956. James retired from Tri-State Envelope Company in 1995. He was a devoted family man. He resided at the Allendale Senior Citizen Building were he received a mayor's award in 2002 for his service and dedication to the community. James loved helping and others happy. James was a faithful member and deacon at the Porter's Tabernacle Church of God in Christ for thirty years. In November 2006 he joined Doswell Cathedral Curch of God in Christ. They received him with much love. Both sons, James Jr. and Kenneth, preceded him in death. He leaves teo mourn; two daughters, Linda G. Murel and Regina Y. Porter; one son-in-law, Wendell Murel and one daughter-in-law Denise Porter; two brothers, Willie Porter and Joseph Porterl two sisters, Dorothy Myrick and Della Gray; two sisters-in-law, shah and Annel ten grandchildren, fouteen great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
