IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James V.
Riddick
November 22, 1926 – January 1, 2017
James Vance Riddick .
was born November 22, 1926 in Hereford, NC.
He departed this life on January 1, 2017.
"Buddy" as he was affectionately known was the second of four
children born to the late James and Eula Riddick. His sisters, Ruth
Hudson and Henrietta Watson preceded him in death.
In his early 20's, Buddy moved to Baltimore, MD. He gained employ-
ment at Bethlehem Steel Company where he worked for over forty
years until his retirement.
At an early age, Buddy gave his life to the Lord. He joined St. Luke's
United Methodist Church where he worshipped until he was no longer
able to care for himself.
Buddy was a man who took pride in his appearance. On any given day,
you could catch him walking or riding the MT A wearing a 3-piece suit
and a nice hat toting his bags. We never really knew where he was
going because he was a very private man however, it was not unusual
to find some perfume he purchased for a lady in those bags. He
enjoyed watching baseball and loved to eat, especially ice cream!
He never had children, so in his later years, his nephew, Charles
Hudson Sr., niece, Jennifer Scott and her husband, Stanley Scott
became his caregivers. They took great care of him!
Buddy leaves to cherish his memory: his sister, Ann Whitehurst of
Bronx, NY; special friends, Frankie James and Mary Parker and a host
of nieces and nephews.
